“I am so grateful to have met Debra Fortune in 2015 through our union negotiation committee. I soon learned that she is a fierce, resilient , strong union sister and now one of my best friends. She has been a paramedic for over 20 years. Her dedication to her family, friends, paramedics and her community far exceeds her own needs.
She works 24/7 if not as a paramedic, mother, counselor, chef, problem solver and the list goes on and on. She takes very little time for herself. She has 4 children and a husband that she loves to the moon and back. She is such an amazing mother to her children and everything she does is to make their lives better. She goes above and beyond and strives to be better each day even though she is struggling.
She has a heart of gold. She is unique and is who she is with no apology. She has integrity and in this world it is beyond difficult to find anyone that will do what is right even when no one is watching. She takes time to listen to people and there is no judgment. I am so grateful to have you in my life.”
