NS Healthcare Hero: Jill Moore

“For your Healthcare Heroes award, I would like to nominate my mom Jill Moore. She is an incredible person taking time to help others even while not on the job. She also consistently worked 18 hour shifts with hour-long commutes to provide for her three children. She started out her career later in life because she found her passion and pursued it! She knew it was going to be something special.

My mom is one of the smartest women I know and one of the most incredible paramedics. She has put so much on the back burner to care for her children for 14 years as a stay-at-home mom to then become a paramedic and sacrificed so much time with her children while In school and on the job. I am appreciative of everything my mom has done for me and my siblings and I am incredibly proud of her for Pursuing her career despite all the difficult obstacles she had to overcome in the process.

My mom is my hero providing me with a healthy safe loving home while in school and working a full-time job with odd hours. I do hope she may receive the $1000 as it would allow her to do something for herself not centred around me and my siblings. She has put so much for herself to the side she no longer paints or rides horses. I see all that she has done and I am extremely proud of her perseverance and dedication.

My mother has set an amazing example of a person you should want to be and I am beyond grateful. My mother is my hero and I hope she is rewarded for the incredible person that she is.”
