NS Healthcare Hero: Rebecca MacLean

“I would like to nominate my friend Rebecca MacLean. Becca, who’s originally from Richmond County, spent a few years away in New Brunswick to become a primary care paramedic at Oulton College. Luckily, just two years in, she decided to come home to work her career in the same county she was born.

Becca is a kind, positive young paramedic who has absolutely changed my career. Throughout our partnership she has taught me how to genuinely enjoy every shift, how to have fun at a job that most people wouldn’t describe as ‘fun,’ and how to open up about mental health to your coworkers. Something that many of us struggle with.

It’s always refreshing to watch her lighten up a room, whether it be with coworkers, nursing staff, or patients. Becca is an exceptional paramedic and and an even better friend. I hope you’ll consider her for your nominations, I can’t think of anyone who deserves it more!”
