NS Healthcare Hero: Tanya Snow-Keeling

“Tanya Snow-Keeling of Mulgrave, Nova Scotia is the definition of a healthcare hero who is about to surpass 17 years of service as a paramedic and first aid trainer. Tanya ensures that every patient that she works with is treated as if they are a member of her own family, and every student that she teaches is inspired to make a difference.

An amazing role model and mentor, Tanya has established herself as a pillar in the community who exemplifies passion, empathy, respect for others, and hard work.

Additionally, Tanya founded ‘Helping the Helpers’, an annual educational conference focused on raising awareness about PTSD in healthcare and frontline workers. Her efforts have translated into a large-scale event that connects members from various communities and contributed to a more mental health literate community of service providers.

A lifelong advocate, Tanya has shown those in her network that it only takes one person to facilitate change and uplift the voices of those around them.”
